Supercross/Motocross Spokesman,
ERV
BRAUN, has announced a revolutionary change coming to motocross racing
in October 2008. As president of Braun Entertainment, Braun stated; "We
will produce the first motocross event to incorporate racing, teaching,
and judging in order to achieve an overall race score, or title. The
event will be called AMERICAN MX IDOL! It will be held October 23rd
thru 26th 2008, at the newly developed IRON CITY MOTORSPORTS
PARK located in Blacksburg, South Carolina, 6 miles south of the N.C.
border on I.85, exit102.
IT’S A RACE!..A SCHOOL!..A CONTEST!..AMERICAN
IDOL ON WHEELS!
ERV BRAUN explained; "There are a lot
of great motocross events in the country, and I have been part of almost
every one of them. Over 25 years of announcing, promoting, racing, being
an MX dad,…I always thought there was something missing. We race! We
trophy! We drive home! It becomes the same old routine. What’s missing?
Character is missing! Who is helping develop our young racers character?
That’s where we need to concentrate some effort. Young racers are
sometimes reluctant to listen to input from Mom or Dad. We send our
racers to motocross schools to improve there overall racing skills,
overlooking the most important element. How do they act off the bike?
Factories and sponsors are looking for the racer that can speak
positively about their products, and will someday represent their
companies professionally.
Over the past three decades we, at
Braun Entertainment, have conducted "Guardian" seminars, clinics and
talent showcases for musicians, and entertainers. In 2004 we included
motocross racers in a limited curriculum and have conducted several
seminars for Pro and Amateur racers, as well as amateur teams, like
Kawasaki Team Green, and The KTM Factory Junior Team. However, getting
racers to become studious at a seminar, and retain the information
offered, is sometimes difficult and costly. AMERICAN MX IDOL will change
the learning curve. As part of your race score, the MX IDOL event will
award points to each racer for attending our FREE seminar, give bonus
points for podium presence, add race results for overall scores, and
select who will be the first "MX IDOL" of their class. Our new race
scoring/judging concept will incorporate all aspects of the racer.
AMERICAN MX IDOL will teach how to attract sponsors, get the attention
of factories, get money back from your motocross investment, and give
the respect deserved to Mom and Dad…..all within the race weekend."
Zya Braun, manager of Braun
Entertainment stated; "At AMERICAN MX IDOL, racers will be given the
tools needed to pursue their race career. Many racers have the talent,
speed, and physical conditioning to be noticed within the motocross
community. However, the most important elements are sometimes missing in
their developmental process. Young racers are apt to overlook how they
present themselves to potential sponsors, forgetting that sponsorship is
the main ingredient for success, throughout their career."
Braun Entertainment’s director of
operations, ZEGIN BRAUN added; "Growing up under our fathers guidance
influenced our family to speak up and be heard. I have always been a
public speaker and it helped me open a lot of doors. Never before has
this "speak up" concept been applied to a race event, especially as part
of a racers overall scores. First you race, then you’re taught, then
you’re judged, then you race again. It’s awesome! The event will teach
racers the correct way to pursue sponsors and the protocol for being
recognized by both Amateur, and Pro Motocross Teams. Attending AMERICAN
MX IDOL is an absolute must for any racer who wants to succeed in our
sport!"
In each class, one racer will stand
above the rest. They will score the most points, and will become the
first MX IDOL of their class. Out of this select group of class
MX
IDOLS, our judges will chose ONE AMERICAN MX IDOL! The winner of this
one and only title will RACE FREE AT FIVE MAJOR MOTOCROSS EVENTS IN
2009. (The Lake Whitney Spring Classic,Texas; The World Mini Grand Prix,
Las Vegas; Ponca City Grand National Championships Oklahoma; Branson
Motocross Championships, Missouri and The Amateur Open Of Motocross,
Phoenix, Arizona)….plus FREE ENTRY TO THE 2009 AMERICAN MX IDOL event,
to defend their crown. It’s IDOL TIME in America, racers…………. See you
October 23rd in Blacksburg, South Carolina.
